They were also calling for the removal of the Chairperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega.

Property was damaged by the protestors as well as many people being injured with APC campaign billboards being vandalised.

The PDP has sought to distance itself from these actions with it's spokesperson, Gani Taofeek saying: "We are not involved. It is not the tradition of the PDP."

The removal of Jega as INEC chairperson is seen by many as a move that would bring chaos to Nigeria.
