Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday insisted that he did not offer the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu the position of Vice President in an interim national government designed to subvert the 2015 general elections, reports Vanguard.

Speaking through his spokesman, Reuben Abati, President Jonathan noted that that given the political structure of Nigeria, it is impossible to have the president and the vice-president coming from the south.

He stated that he had in the past openly rejected insinuations of an interim government by calling the arrangement treasonable.

He described the allegation as “grossly and utterly irresponsible” and “unintelligent”

Tinubu had on Thursday alleged that his refusal to accede to the offer of VP in an interim government arrangement pitched him against the President , noting that there are plans to assassinate him.
