Jonathan meets Mbeki, Abdusalami

Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday met with former South African President, Thabo Mbeki and a former Head of State, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar, reports Thisday.

The closed-door meeting was held at the President’s official residence in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Although, details of discussion at the meeting were unknown, it might not be unconnected to the 2015 general elections.

In attendance at the meeting were the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja John Onaiyekan, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, Special Adviser to the President on Inter-Party Relations, Senator Ben Obi, and a former Chief of General Staff, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe.
