Jonathan, service chiefs receive briefing from Jega

Abuja - Attahiru Jega, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), yesterday briefed President Goodluck Jonathan and heads of all security agencies on the Commission's readiness to host the 2015 elections, Sun News reports.

The Security Council Meeting, presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, was held behind closed doors with Jega emerging from the meeting alongside two top officials who allegedly attended the meeting with him.

When asked by State House correspondents how the meeting went, Jega replied that the gathering was a success.

Questions regarding the use of card readers, the preparedness of the Commission to host the elections and a possible further postponement of the elections all remained unanswered as Jega left the Presidential Villa.
