Abuja - The All Progressives Party claims that having failed to discredit Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, President Goodluck Jonathan has allegedly given money to groups to hold protests against Tinubu, Vanguard reported.

The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said that it expects the group to be calling for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to arrest Tinubu.

The party said it was as confident of the planned protests as it was of the violent protests of the Odua Peoples Congress as well as the postponement of the elections.

An excerpt from the statement read: "Such is the level of President Jonathan’s desperation for re-election that a man who is not on the ballot in the forthcoming elections has become a target of unprecedented mudslinging by his administration.”

The APC also claimed that President Jonathan's chances of re-election were decreasing due to these acts of desperation.
