The defeat of Jonathan to All Progressives Congress candidate, Muhammadu Buhari has brought an abrupt end to the PDP's 16 year rule.

The Presidency however urged supporters of the PDP to banish any thoughts of despair, saying that the defeat gave the party the opportunity to re-strategise and plan ahead.

Special Advisor to the President on Political Affairs, Rufai Ahmed Alkali added that the recent defeat suffered by the PDP was not a final destination in the party's journey in the political landscape of the country.
