Owerri - The endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan for the March 28 presidential election by the some members of the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has divided the group, reports Vanguard.

Some members of the group are accusing the leaders of group of acting beyond their mandate by endorsing Jonathan.

The aggrieved members noted that tenure of the President General, Enwo Igariwey and its executives had expired in January as contained in the constitution of the group.

They noted that it was wrong for the leadership of the party to go ahead and endorse Jonathan when they don't have the constitutional right to speak on behalf of the group.

Joe Nworgu, the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has, however dismissed claims on the expiration of their tenure in office.

He noted thatthe constitution of the group was amended in 2010 to pave way for a four year duration of the executives instead of two.
