Kwankwaso seeks workers support to incoming govt.

Kano - Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State on Thursday appealed to civil servants to support the incoming administration in the state, to ensure continuity.

Kwankwaso made the appeal in Kano during the opening of the 11th State Delegate Conference of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The conference was organised to elect leaders to run the affairs of the congress in the state.

Represented by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Umar Shehu, the governor said that without the support of workers, his administration would not have achieved the successes it recorded.

According to him, his government has taken steps to boost the morale of workers and create the enabling environment for them to discharge their responsibilities effectively.

He added that the state government was among the first in the country to implement the N18, 000 minimum wage.

The governor, therefore, urged the NLC to render similar support to the new government, to enable it improve on the wellbeing of workers and ensure the overall development of the state.

In his remark, the outgoing state Chairman of the NLC, Isah Danguguwa, commended members of the union for their support and encouragement during his eight years in office.

He urged them to support the incoming leaders in order to move the state and country forward.

Danguguwa also called on members of the union to forgive one another, especially the outgoing leadership for the mistakes they might have made during their tenure.
