Lagos - The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has congratulated Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, and his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on their victory at the March 28 Presidential election.
This is contained in a congratulatory message by Rotimi Adebayo, his Chief Press Secretary and made available to the media in Lagos on Wednesday.
According to him, it is well earned victory.
“As you emerge victorious in the just concluded presidential election, I heartily rejoice with you and your running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on your well-earned victory.”
“I also warmly congratulate the entire leadership of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC) like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Dr Bukola Saraki, and Gov. Rotimi Amaechi.”
“I also congratulate other leaders in the party who worked assiduously by jettisoning their personal interest, to salvage Nigeria from the brink,” Ikuforiji said.

He said the election would serve as lesson to all, adding that days were gone when politics in Nigeria was business as usual.
Ikuforiji added that March 28 was the day the people spoke loud and clear, and their voices echoed the change that they desire for the future of Nigeria.
The speaker also commended Nigerians, the electorate who have wholeheartedly and unanimously sacrifice their time to elect the credible man to salvage the sagging economy and image of our great country.
The Lawmakers, however, call on Nigerians both home and abroad to help the new administration to achieve a better Nigeria than ever.
He solicited support for the president-elect as he prepares to assume office to actualise the great plans that he had in stock for the people and the nation.
The speaker said “there is no doubt in mind that a new dawn is here for our great nation and her people” because of Buhari’s antecedents.
He described the president-elect as a detribalised, bold, no-nonsense, incorruptible and a highly contented statesman and retired military general.
Ikuforiji conveyed the assembly’s felicitation to Buhari and his running mate on their well-earned victory.
“May God bless Nigeria and I wish our party, APC the best.”
