Lagos students welcome election of Ambode

Lagos - The Conference of Ogun State Students' in Lagos(COSSLAG) has congratulated the incoming governor- elect, Akinwunmi Ambode for his victory in the Lagos State governorship election.

The organization expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

It hailed the electoral body for its “commitment, dedication, indefatigable and dogged character in the discharge of this painstaking national esponsibility.”

“The association praised and commended Jimi Agbaje of People’s Democratic Party for conceding defeat and display of sportsmanship by congratulating his rival even before the official announcement of the electoral body and by fulfillment of his commitment in ensuring free, fair and credible polls in peaceful atmosphere,” said COSSLAG President, Sonaike Sowunmi.

COSSLAG commended all Ogun State students in Lagos and articulated Nigerians for their peaceful conduct and attitude before, during and after the election.

The Lagos governorship poll was tightly-contested but Ambode emerged the winner with 811 994 votes to Agbaje’s 659 788.
