Pankshin- Former Chairman of PDP in Plateau, Dr Haruna Dabin, has described the emergence of Simon Lalong of APC as Governor-elect of the State as victory for Plateau people.
Lalong defeated Senator Gyang Pwajok of PDP in Saturday’s governorship election by 564, 913 votes to Pwajok’s 520,627 votes.
Dabin, who spoke with media in Pankshin on Monday, congratulated Lalong for the victory and commended the people of Plateau "for truncating Gov. Jang’s agenda".
"Jang’s insistence on forcing Pwajok on the state was but his own agenda and not Berom agenda.
"I am happy that the people of the state rose to the challenge and stopped the autocratic tendency of Jang," Dabin said.

Dabin added that he was a strong believer in the Plateau project. "The loss of PDP candidate has vindicated me and others who kicked against Jang's role in the emergence of Pwajok as PDP candidate.
"We shall now have a true government of the people with Lalong as governor. He believes in truth and justice."
He advised Lalong to make a difference in the life of the people.
"Lalong should see his present position as God’s act and a rallying point for the transformation of Plateau to socio-economically vibrant state."
He urged the governor-elect to "clean it up every mess" and put the Plateau House in order so that all the citizens can move forward as one people.
