Abuja - As speculation over who becomes Speaker of the House of Representatives continues, members of the House are at loggerheads over the endorsement of Femi Gbajabiamila as the next Speaker of the House, reports Thisday.

The disagreement follows the alleged endorsement of Gbajabiamila by various caucuses in the House.

On Tuesday, the majority of the lawmakers from the North-west geo-political zone threw their weight behind Gbajabiamila.

Tuesday's endorsement comes after some lawmakers from the North-east and North-central zones denied endorsing Gbajabiamila.

One of Gbajabiamila’s main challengers, Abdulmumin Jibrin, condemned some of his colleagues for endorsing a particular aspirant for the post.

He said he believes the House should choose its leaders base on acceptance, and not the purported endorsement.

He challenged other aspirants to come out with their agenda if they are sure it will be in the new spirit of change.
