Abuja - Many loyalists of the outgoing Senate President David Mark have endorsed the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts, Senator Ahmad Lawan as the next Senate President, reports The Nation.
The loyalists, who met on Sunday opted to work for the emergence of Lawan as the head of the eighth Senate.

The decision to support Lawan did not come easy as the senators argued before coming up with their position.
Mark’s loyalists noted that only Lawan out of the three candidates vying for the post will ensure what they termed continuity of the legacies of the outgoing Senate President.
