Melaye mobilises senators for Saraki, Ndume

Abuja - A new group known as The Like Minds has emerged in the Senate, reports Vanguard.

The group is drumming support for the candidacy of Senators Bukola Saraki and Ali Ndume as Senate President and Deputy Senate President respectively.

The group, which is led by the senator-elect, Dino Melaye, has about 70 senators and its membership cuts across all the six geo-political zones.

About 27 of the 49 senators- elect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are said to be part of the group.

The group claimed it was working to ensure that no external influence or external political godfather hijacked the Senate leadership.
