Umuahia - The Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Eze Isaac Ikonne of Aba North has been asked to step-down from the post, reports NewsDay.
His offence was that he bestowed a traditional title, Ogbuagu 1 of Aba kingdom, on the the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Mohammadu Buhari.
His colleagues in the council noted that Ikonne lacks the power to bestowed a title on Buhari as the council is solidly behind President Goodluck Jonathan.Also read: MEND reiterates support for Buhari
The members maintained that Ikonne was influenced to do what he did.
Ikonn has been critical of the PDP led government in the state.
