Monarch sacked for bestowing title on Buhari

Umuahia - The Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Eze Isaac Ikonne of Aba North has been asked to step-down from the post, reports NewsDay.

His offence was that he bestowed a traditional title, Ogbuagu 1 of Aba kingdom, on the the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC)  Mohammadu Buhari.

His colleagues in the council noted that Ikonne lacks the power to bestowed a title on Buhari as the council is solidly behind President Goodluck Jonathan.

The members maintained that Ikonne was influenced to do what he did.

Ikonn has been critical of the PDP led government in the state.
