Abuja - The Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to go ahead with national elections as scheduled, Sun News has reported.
Contained in a statement at the end of a meeting held yesterday, NPAN said citizens must stand behind the existing election dates and the country should rally around whoever is pronounced winner.

The statement, signed by NPAN President Nduka Obaigbena, noted that newspaper proprietors took the decision after exhaustive deliberations and a thorough review of the current political landscape of the country.
