Lagos - The Movement for the Survival of the Niger Delta Indigenes (MOSAINDI) has called for cancellation of the recent presidential election citing alleged massive rigging in all the geo-political zones of the country.

The non-governmental organisation also called for the cancellation of the suspension of the governorship and state Assembly elections scheduled for the weekend.

Godgift Edigbe, Spokesman of MOSAINDI, said after a thorough observation of the presidential polls, it was clear that there was massive rigging in all parts of the country.

In some parts of the north, he alleged, there were underage voting which were not documented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) while the failure of card reading machines compromised the election.

He expressed surprise that despite these alleged major lapses, the international community, some politicians and President Goodluck Jonathan accepted the results.

Edigbe warned that unless these anomalies were corrected, there was the likelihood of the weekend’s governorship elections being rigged.

“Should that happen, Nigeria would be sitting on top OF a keg laded with a bomb.”
