Nigerians on Facebook express fear ahead of polls

Abuja - A recent post on the News24 Nigeria Facebook page has revealed a concern over safety during and after the March 28 and April 11 elections.

When asked "Are you concerned about your safety during the next few days", many respondents expressed fear with the regard to the upcoming polls.

One respondent, Abdulsalam Ibrahim Badmus, responded by saying "Yes I am and every other person should be".

Another respondent, Isa Olasunkanmi Jacob, replied by saying he is concerned due to violence in his area.

Despite the distrust, however, a January 2015 poll conducted by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems found that 79 percent of citizens are very, or somewhat, likely to vote in the election on Saturday.
