Lagos - The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo state, Vincent Awekhor, along with 11 party members have defected to the All Progressive Congress in Upkato ward, Naij reported.

Awekhor, speaking on behalf of the other defectors, applauded the leadership qualities of Oshiomhole and the focus on people orientated initiatives throughout the state.
"We have watched political activities not only in the state but the federal and have concluded that Nigerians need a change and the change is coming from only one party, which is the APC and because we do not want to be left behind, we have decided today to join the moving train that will bring the desired change to Nigeria,” he said.
Oshiomhole, who received the new members today, opined that this has decimated the PDP in the state.
He added that they would not regret their move and decidsion to join the APC.
