Abuja - Scandal has hit the Ekori community of the Yakurr Local Government Area in Cross River State after supporters of the ruling party clashed with members of the Labour Party (LP) in a deadly confrontation, Sun News reports.
The incident is said to have been been started when members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) barricaded a road leading to Ekori junction in an effort to prevent LP members from carrying out a campaign rally.

The LP members became visibly infuriated by the disturbance and proceeded to dismantle the roadblock, subsequently leading to a confrontation between the two groups. The fight ended in bloodshed, with 4 people suspected to be dead and 15 injured.
In addition to human fatalities, the two groups are also reported to have destroyed houses and cars while vandalising other valuables as they proceeded on their rampage.
