PDP afraid of free and fair election: Tinubu

2015-03-18 09:01

Abuja - Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) fears the outcome of a free and fair election, stating that the ruling party would prefer if the process was murky and lacked credibility.

In a statement made available yesterday, Tinubu claimed that the ruling party was afraid of the use of card readers due to the fact that they would prevent electoral malfunctions during election day, Sun News reports.

Tinubu has also accused top PDP figures of campaigning against the elections taking place on the specified day.

The leader stated that the use of card readers would eliminate elements of human error and mischief during the election period. He insisted that fingerprints could no longer be altered, not could the machines reading them be distorted.

The APC has said that the use of card readers would allow the voting public to exercise their right in a free and fair manner, devoid of interference.
