2015-01-23 11:54

Abuja - The Cross River State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a campaign council to enhance its chances of retaining power in the state.

The immediate past chairman of the party, Ntufam Ekpo Okon, will serve as the council’s Director General.

The governor, Liyel Imoke, described the event as significant as it marked the commencement the party’s desire to inform the people why they should vote for the party in next month’s general election.

“We will not only meet the people but listen to them to enable us implement the projects which they want because the party is people oriented and its projects revolved around the people. We intend to carry the message to the people and the difference in campaigning is when you do
not have anything   to show,” he said.

Imoke said Cross River was united under PDP.

“PDP has a lot to show though it does not blow its trumpet so loud because it believes actions speak louder than words,” he said.

Okon thanked Imoke for his leadership qualities.

“He is a good leader who loves the party and ensures it remains united.
His leadership has brought unity, equity, justice, and fair play within the party” he said.

He assured the party of resounding victory in the state, urging party members to work hard and sustain the legacy of the ruling party.
