PDP candidates withdraw petitions against APGA

Awka - Twenty-one candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who contested for seats in the House of Assembly elections in Anambra State have decided to withdraw their petitions from the election petitions tribunal, sitting in Awka, the state capital., reports Punch.

The candidates, who met with the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Nkem Okeke, said their decision was borne out of the need to support Gov. Willie Obiano, who is doing well .

The leader of the group and PDP candidate for Nnewi South 2 Constituency, Egwuonyibo Okoye, who spoke on behalf of the other candidates, said their primary concern was what should be done to move Anambra State forward.

He noted that they decided to withdraw their cases from the election petitions tribunal to enable APGA lawmakers, who emerged victorious, to wok with the governor to transform the state.

Responding, Okeke, thanked the group for demonstrating remarkable patriotism and extraordinary sportsmanship.
