PDP chairman wins Delta-North senatorial election

Asaba - People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Delta, Peter Nwaoboshi, has emerged winner of Delta North Senatorial Election held on Saturday.

Nwaoboshi polled 156,604 votes to defeat his closest rival, Victor Ochei of Accord Party, who polled 67,580 votes.

The result was announced on Monday in Asaba by the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Sunday Akparobi.

Akparobi also announced the result of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, which he said was won by Ayemechi Mrakpor of the PDP.

He said that Mrakpor polled 58,330 votes to defeat Ngozi Okolie of the Accord Party, who scored 15,238 votes.
