Akure - Dr Eddy Olafeso, a former Commissioner for Information in Ondo State and PDP chieftain, has urged journalists to demonstrate professionalism in the coverage of the 2015 general elections.

Olafeso made the call on Thursday while fielding questions from newsmen in Akure.

He said journalists should not be partisan in carrying out their duties during and after the elections in order to build an egalitarian society desired by all.

The PDP chieftain also blamed the desperation for public office on the attractive remuneration and perks of office.

Olafeso said that contestants and office holders must always demonstrate competence and capability in the discharge of their duties.

The former commissioner equally argued that four years were not enough for President Goodluck Jonathan to tackle the rot in the country.

According to him, the transformation agenda of the president is capable of taking the country to the next level.

He stressed that the quality of opposition politics currently in the country would only bring out the best potentials in the PDP.

Olafeso, however, called on residents of the state to continue to support the PDP by voting for it in all elections.
