Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party has denied that it has endorsed any candidates for the role of House Speaker saying that there was no need to rush the decision.

The Party emphasised that it was at this time solely focused on playing it's role as an opposing party in upholding democracy in the country.

It also claimed that these claims were given mileage to a certain extent by one of its members.

The PDP went on to state that its decision to support a candidate when it decides to do so will be done without prejudice to national aspirations.

The party went on to add that any claims by aspirants representing the party should be disregarded until an official statement by the PDP on its decision is released.
