Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissociated itself from the paid advertisement in some national newspapers by the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, in which he wished the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, dead, reports NewsDay
The party stated that what Gov. Fayose said represents his own personal opinion and not that of the party.
Femi Fani-Kayode, Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, in statement on Tuesday said the advertorial did not in any way reflect the views of President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP presidential campaign organisation.Also read: Jonathan, PDP under attack over Buhari death threat
He pointed out that the PDP and its campaign organisation believe in the sanctity of life and will not wish Buhari dead.
He maintained that questions regarding the advertisement should be directed to Gov. Fayose.
