PDP senators’ plot unsettles APC

2015-04-24 19:32

Abuja - An alleged plot by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to retain the Senate presidency has unsettled the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports New Mail.

The PDP wants to capitalize on the inability of the APC to arrive at a consensus on who emerges the Senate President to retain the seat.

The thinking in the PDP camp is that there might be a major disagreement among APC senators over the party’s choice for the position.

The PDP caucus in the Senate has already reached an accord with some APC senators from the North East over who becomes the Senate President.

The plot has forced the APC to inaugurate a five-man committee to come up with an acceptable formula on how to share the principal positions in the National Assembly.

Members of the committee include President- elect, Muhammadu Buhari, the National Chairman of the party, John Odigie- Oyegun and three other members.
