Kano - The police in Kano have arraigned 67 persons for their alleged involvement in electoral offences during the March 28 presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano command, Magaji Majiya, told a news conference in Kano on Thursday that the suspects were apprehended at various locations during the elections.

Majiya said that the suspects were arrested for electoral offences such as breaching of peace and snatching of ballot papers.

He said that the police recovered from the suspects some weapons such as knives, swords, sticks, matchetes, bows and arrows.

He called on the people, especially the youths, to be cautious in the manner they celebrated General Muhammadu Buhari’s victory at the poll to avoid accidents.
