Abuja - The National Peace Committee has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, and the entire Nigeria Police Force on their role in the successful conduct of the last weekend Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The committee, led by former head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar, gave the commendation during their visit to the IGP at the force headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, the former head of state said their visit was to thank the IGP and the entire policemen.

“The essence of our visit is to thank the Inspector-General of Police and the entire Nigeria Police Force on the role played in the success of just concluded elections, we are grateful to all of you,” Abubakar said.
Abba meanwhile assured members of the committee that the police will also show the same commitment and professionalism during the state governorship and state legislature elections.
“We will also show the same commitment and professionalism during the state governorship and state legislature elections on April 11th and all subsequent elections in Nigeria,” Abba said.
