Akure - Vice President Namadi Sambo has reiterated his commitment towards the development of the nation and transformation agenda of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, if elected for second term on March 28.

Sambo, running mate to the Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), affirmed this during an interactive with leadership of Muslim Ummah, South West, Edo and Delta in Akure on Wednesday.

Prayers were said for the security of the nation and the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming elections.

Secretary General of the League of Imams and Alphas, Aladesewa, commended Jonathan for the transformational projects embarked upon in the country.

He decried the menace of Boko Haram in the North Eastern part of the nation.

"Whosoever kills an innocent soul is believed to have killed the whole of mankind", Aladesewa said.

He made reference to the dictates of Prophet Mohammed and his spiritual writ against those killing in the name of religion.

Some of the Islamic leaders who spoke also appreciated the developmental policies of the federal government but pointed out some inadequacies of the government.

In his remark Mimiko urged the people to make decisions, especially during the forthcoming elections, based on reasons rather than sentiments.

"What is ahead of us is far beyond religion. We must not allow religion to inform our choice of voting but the quality of service, which is premised on structural development."

He listed the notable achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan to include the establishment of several Almajiri Schools in the north and the education sector at large.

term in office.

On his part, Sambo emphasized the importance of the Muslim Ummah and its indispensable roles in governance, which has
informed the decision of Jonathan to accord it a portfolio.

Sambo also listed the achievements of the administration and restated administration's commitment towards constant power supply.

"We have transformed the country from importing cement to a country that is now exporting cement," Sambo said.

He mentioned the successes achieved in the commerce and industry, agriculture, transportation.
