Saraki inches towards clinching Senate Presidency

Abuja - Former Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki is steadily coasting home to clinch the Senate President seat, reports Thisday.

Saraki’s support base has continued to swell with more senators queuing behind him.

Among the senators that have joined the Saraki camp are the 12 senators of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the North East that have rejected the aspiration of one of Saraki's opponents, Ahmed Lawan.

He equally has the support of the four Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators from the zone.

Support for Saraki is also coming from the outgoing Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, who has been elected into the Senate.

Akpabio is expected galvanise support for Saraki from senators from the South South.
