Saraki shuns meeting with APC leaders

Abuja - Newly elected Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday played a fast one on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Saraki boycotted a meeting called by the party leadership to resolve the crisis that has engulfed the party over the lawmakers’ battle for top seats in the National Assembly.

While the party leaders were waiting for Saraki at the venue of the meeting, Saraki and his supporters headed straight to the National Assembly to participate in the election of principal officers.

Saraki’s main challenger, Ahmed Lawan and his supporters were also seated at the venue of the meeting waiting for the Saraki camp to arrive.

Saraki was eventually elected unopposed after he was nominated by Senator Ahmed Yerima
