The security forces have been enforcing a strict restriction of movement order at additional check points throughout the region.

Amid fears of violence during and after the elections, the security forces have been subjecting motorists to thorough searches of their vehicles and person.

The Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, Wilson Inalegwu said however that there was no cause for alarm.

He encouraged voters to not be intimidated and to exercise their rights to vote during the elections.
