Abuja - A group of ranking senators, who are backing the ambition of Ahmed Lawan to become the Senate President, have called on President-elect Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to allow them elect their own leaders, reports Daily Times.
The group, which rose from a brain storming session in Abuja on Monday, noted that if indeed due process will be allowed , then Lawan should succeed David Mark as the next Senate President

The lawmakers described Lawan as the most qualified among the contestants for the Senate Presidency.
Other aspirants for the post are Senators Bukola Saraki and George Akume.
