Shagari denies endorsing Jonathan

Sokoto - Former Nigerian President Shehu Shagari has denied endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan , reports Sahara Reporters.

He described the statement credited to him by some media agencies and online news blogs in which he was reported to have endorsed President Jonathan and commending his government for some achievements has false.

In statement by one of his sons, Muhammad Bala , Shagari said he is not a card carry member of any party and could therefore not have endorsed Jonathan.

He also denied condemning Muhammadu Buhari’s candidature as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
