Soldiers block INEC officials in Edo

Edo - Independent National Electoral Commission officials were blocked by soldiers in Edo North from conducting their lawful duties, DailyIndependent reported.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole has expressed shock over the matter as electoral personnel should not be by any means be restricted to do their job.

According to Oshiomhole, the soldiers must have had illegal order from an unknown commander and wanted to frustrate the voting exercise in the state.

The officials were forced to sit on the ground for several hours before they were allowed to leave. The soldiers commanded they had gotten strict orders to do such.
