South West Muslim leaders refuse to meet Jonathan

Lagos - A meeting proposed by President Goodluck Jonathan with a cross section of Muslim leaders in the South West has hit a brick wall, reports Sahara Reporters.

The meeting was supposed to hold on Sunday at  the Ansarudeen Central Mosque, Ajao Road, Surulere, Lagos .

The meeting was facilitated by former Minister of State for Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro.

Most of the religious figures indicated their reluctance to attend the meeting, saying it would be a betrayal of the general decision not to draw Muslim leaders in the country into partisan politics.

The Muslim leaders also cited the controversy generated with the alleged N7b gift to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),which had divided the body.
