Lagos - Special forces have been deployed in Rivers state in an attempt to address security concerns in the region ahead of the upcoming elections.

In a statement released by police officials, 32 Units of Police Mobile Force, 4 Units of Counter terrorism and 4 Units of Special Protection have been deployed.
Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba has further deployed six Deputy Inspectors-General of Police to coordinate security measures in the state.
This comes as the police have deployed 18000 police officials in various states.
