Lagos - The Supreme Court stated that it had chosen May 27 as the date that it would rule on the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic party's candidate in the governorship election in Osun State, Iyiola Omisore.

Omisore is appealing the election of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Rauf Aregbesola.
The seven-man panel, led by Justice John Fabiyi, fixed the date for judgement after the respective parties argued their briefs.
Omisore is appealing the decision to elect the APC candidate as he on behalf of the PDP believes that the election results were invalid, he has also called in question the Independent National Electoral Commission in the appeal process.
