Taraba Acting Governor wins Senate seat

Jalingo - Taraba Acting Governor Abubakar Sani Danladi has been declared the winner of the Taraba North senatorial election, reports The Nation.

He polled 106  163 votes to beat Sani Kona of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who garnered 99 446 votes.

Danladi, who had been impeached by the House of Assembly but recently reinstated by the court, was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election.

Senator Emmanuel Bwacha of the PDP won the senatorial seat in Southern Taraba.

He would be making a return to the Senate.

Bashir Marafa, former Adviser on Bureau for Local Governments, won the Central Zone senatorial election.
