US welcomes conclusion of Nigeria elections

2015-04-13 17:41

Lagos - The United States Embassy in Nigeria congratulated the people of Nigeria and the Independent National Electoral Commission for the just-concluded elections.

The Embassy said the electoral process on Saturday generally went well across the country and built on the success of the March 28 polling process.

However, the US Embassy noted the reports of violence and alleged irregularities, particularly in Rivers and Akwa Ibom states, and called on those dissatisfied to peacefully pursue their grievances in the judicial arena.
