Why Nigerians in Ukraine endorsed Buhari

Lagos - Nigerians in Ukraine have explained their endorsement of opposition leader, Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of this weekend’s presidential elections.

They believe the All Progressives Congress candidate is better placed to economically empower the country that the rest of the candidates vying for the highest office in the country.

The endorsement followed a meeting held in the city of Ternopil.

“Nigerians from all walks of life resolved to endorse the candidature of General Muhammadu Buhari for the presidential election .They are convinced that GMB is the only candidate with vibrancy, energy, knowledge and commitment to liberate Nigeria from its economic disasters,” read a letter Chairman of the Nigerians in Ukraine, Muhammad Ahmad Gusau, signed.

He signed alongside Shadrach Omale (Secreatary) and Ahmed Omeiza Lukman (Spokesman).

Following the endorsement, the demanded APC, if elected into power, to commit on the dual citizenship, give poor student’s bursaries and scholarships, reduce the price fuel and rice, reduce the government spending on by-elections and direct such resources to improve health and education as well as reduce the size of government.

They urged APC to improve health facilities, lower the cost of doing business, provide free education for majority of poor Nigerians, create “real” jobs for Nigerians and give Nigerians a people-driven constitution.
