Gusau - The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Zamfara has rejected the Governorship and House of Assembly election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

It alleged wide spread fraud and conspiracy, saying it would contest the election at the tribunal.

APGA gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi, told newsmen on Wednesday in Gusau that the election was characterised by massive rigging.

"It was an electoral military coup and imposition of APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Abdul'aziz Yari, on the people of Zamfara.''

He described the outcome of the polls as "the most fraudulent'' in the history of the state.

Shinkafi claimed that the party's returning officers were prevented from getting access to collation centers contrary to the provision of the law.

He assured that APGA would challenge the election results at the tribunal, and thanked the people for their support to the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that in the results declared by INEC, APC secured 716,964 votes to win the governorship seat, while PDP won 201,938 votes and APGA had 2,385 votes.
