Abuja Film Festival announces award categories

Lagos - Organisers  for the 11th edition of Abuja International Film Festival (AIFF) have announced the different award categories for the festival, reports The Nation.

The event will open on  September 23, at the Silverbird Cinemas, Abuja, will have film nominations in 13 categories.

Acting Festival Director, Fred Amata, said the 13 categories does not include animation and the viewers’ choice segments, which will be decided by the audience at the event.

He also said that two new categories had been added for Outstanding Music Score and Best Student Film.

He revealed that AIFF had over 145 entries from around the world with entries from Nigeria comprising of  over 60%.

According to him, the festival will open on the September 23 with the Lancelot Imasuen film, Invasion 1897 also with Jackie Chan’s 3D film, Chinese Zodiac was an entry  sent to the festival by the Chinese government.
