Lagos - The 2015 Dance Afrique Summerfest will be headlined by Pop icon and producer AKON, along with Nigerian rising star and MTV Africa Music Award winner Yemi Alade, and South African Pop duo Mafikizolo.
Summerfest takes place at the SSE Arena, Wembley on Friday, August 28, in London.
A veteran in the music industry, Akon first burst onto the scene in 2004 with his classic hit ‘Locked Up’, and has gone on to sell over 23 million singles and albums, with five World Music Awards, a Billboard Music award, an American Music award and five Grammy Award nominations, plus hit collaborations with Snoop Dogg, David Guetta and the late great Michael Jackson.

Yemi Alade was recently crowned MTV Africa Music Award ‘Best Female Artist’, and is best known for her breakthrough hit single ‘Johnny’ which has garnered over 23 million views on YouTube and led her to being nominated for both a MOBO Award in 2014 for ‘Best African Act’ and a BET Award for ‘Best International Act: Africa’ earlier this year.
Veteran South African Pop duo Mafikizolo was nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award and MOBO Award for ‘Best African Act’ in the same year.
