Lagos - Premium German broadcast platform Deutsche Welle(DW) has opened a new correspondent’s office in Lagos.
The addition according to Gerda Meuer, director of programming of DW who said that it was part of a strategy to expand DW’s African market.
She said that the the new office will contribute in expanding the television, online and radio coverage of Africa.
Meuer revealed that the corespondents, Jan-Philipp Scholz and Adrian Kriesch have been in Lagos since September 1.
Already DW ‘s Hausa radio program has been in existence for over 50 years, with DW’s complete radio Hausa and English programs available on shortwaves and satellite.
Already DW has over 20 Nigerian FM stations and eight television stations rebroadcast its programs.
