David Oyelowo to star in Americanah

Lagos - Hollywood star David Oyelowo will feature in the adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie‘s book Americanah, reports Bellanaija

The British actor of Nigerian origin will star in the film after Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, got the film rights.

Oyelowo is currently making waves and getting Oscar buzz for his portrayal of Martin Luther King in Selma. His role in Americanah is yet to be known.

Americanah is based on young Nigerian immigrants who face a lifetime of struggle while their relationship endures.

 The film will be produced by Brad Pitt‘s production company, Plan B, presently a writer and director have not yet been named.

Chimamanda Adichie’s Half Of aA Yellow Sun has been made into a movie and stars  Hollywood actors Chiwetalu Ejiofor and Thandie Newton.
