Fela Kuti's remembrance concert holds in August

Lagos - To mark 18 years of Afrobeat Legend Fela Kuti’s  demise, the New African Shrine is holding The Afrobeat Party, an annual musical concert targeted at celebrating the life and times of the late Afro beat king, reports Nigerian Entertainment Today(NET)

Previous editions of  the event have featured an array of display from trend setting artists like General Pype, Dammy Krane, K- Switch, Runtown, Efa, Cynthia Morgan, Tillaman, Flowsick and Remi Aluko.

This year would be its third edition and the two- day event is scheduled to kick-off in the evening of Saturday, August 1 and ends on Sunday, August 2.

Fela died on August 2, 1997 at the age of 58 in Lagos, Nigeria.
