'Get In My Vagina!' Kate Beckinsale tells Republicans

09 May 2012, 11:15

Hollywood - Hollywood actors Kate Beckinsale and Judy Greer are the stars of a new Funny or Die video which gives a tongue-in-cheek perspective on women’s reproductive health issues, currently being debated by US politicians.

In the satirical video, Kate, Judy and comedienne Andrea Savage play all-American Republican women who support a Republican bid to overhaul existing reproductive and female health laws which require employers, including religious institutions, to provide female employees with free health insurance coverage for contraceptives.

"I don’t want government in my banks. I don’t want government in my classrooms. Where do I want government? In my vagina!" the women happily declare.

"Being a woman means having a vagina," says Kate. "But it doesn’t mean we want to have control of it."

The hilarious video goes on to describe a woman’s vagina as an "unshaven clown" while welcoming Republican bids to restrict women’s access to affordable birth control and safe ultrasound tests on the foetus.

"Don't you want someone like your dad in your vagina? I do," asks Kate.
